The scrap metal shredder, also called a twin shaft metal shredder, mainly consists of a shredding chamber, two cutter shafts, alloy cutter discs, couplings, machine base, gear reducers, high-torque motors and electric control cabinet.
Scrap metal can be fed into the shredding chamber by apron conveyor, belt conveyor or other feeding equipment. The cutter discs on the two shafts grab and pull the material into the chamber. Through low-speed shearing, squeezing and tearing, the material is reduced into smaller loose pieces and then discharged by conveyor for further crushing, sorting, storage or transportation.
This equipment is suitable for primary size reduction of various recyclable metal materials. It can process light scrap metal, scrap steel, aluminum scrap, aluminum alloy scrap, aluminum cans, motorcycle frames, bicycle frames, metal drums, paint buckets, appliance shells, oil filters and other light or medium metal materials.
The scrap metal shredder can be used as a standalone machine or integrated with feeding conveyors, discharge conveyors, magnetic separators, scrap metal crushers, eddy current separators, dust collectors and other supporting equipment to form a metal recycling process.
