The metal shredder, also known as a twin‑shaft shredder, mainly consists of a shredding chamber, shredding spindles, shredding cutters, spindle couplings, a machine base, hardened‑tooth gear reducers, high‑torque motors, and an electrical control cabinet.

The equipment can feed scrap metal into the shredding chamber via an apron conveyor, belt conveyor, or other feeding devices. The claw‑type cutters on the cutter shafts firmly grip the material, and the material is crushed under the mutual squeezing and shearing action of the spindles. The shredded material is then discharged by a conveyor, facilitating subsequent fine crushing and sorting processes.

This equipment features a low‑speed, high‑shear‑force design, resulting in low operating noise. It can efficiently process various types of scrap metal, significantly reducing material transportation volume and costs.   1. The metal shredder is powered by two high-torque motors, which transmit power to the gear reducers. As shown in the metal shredder structure diagram above, after the power passes through the hardened‑tooth reducers, it goes through an internal gear transmission system that significantly reduces the rotational speed while proportionally increasing the torque, which then drives the shredder cutter shafts to rotate.

  2. The two shredder cutter shafts mesh tightly with each other. When material enters the shredding chamber through the feed hopper, the cutter claw structure on the shafts grabs the material. The rotating cutter shafts then perform tearing, squeezing, and shearing actions on the material, eventually breaking it down into small pieces that are discharged from the bottom of the chamber.

  3. The shredded metal material falls onto a screen (or grid) at the bottom of the machine. Particles smaller than the screen openings are discharged from the machine; material that has not yet reached the required size is carried back by the cutter shafts for further shredding until it can pass through the screen.

The main machine body is welded from extra-thick steel plates, offering a rugged and stable structure for long-lasting durability. Both the moving blades and the fixed blades are made of high-hardness alloy materials, providing sharp cutting edges, high hardness, and strong crushing capability.

The equipment is equipped with high-torque motors. After power is transmitted through the gearbox, it delivers strong torque output, easily shredding various metal materials with stable and powerful operation.

The external bearing housing design ensures excellent sealing and dust protection, allows easy bearing disassembly and assembly, and simplifies maintenance.

The moving blades adopt a detachable insert structure for easy replacement. When the blades become worn, they can be completely removed for surface grinding. After sharpening, they can be reused, reducing operating costs.

It is equipped with claw‑type moving blades that use a rotary shearing structure, providing high shearing force and shredding efficiency. The cutter claw type can be customized as needed to achieve various output particle sizes for different materials.
