Metal Crusher (also known as metal shredder or scrap steel shredder) uses a high-speed rotating main shaft to drive hammers, performing composite crushing operations such as impacting, kneading, and squeezing on metal materials inside the crushing chamber. When combined with a subsequent sorting system, it can achieve impurity removal, compaction, and shaping of scrap metal. It is the core equipment of a scrap metal crushing and recycling production line.

Production Line Workflow

A metal crusher can operate as a stand-alone machine or be integrated into a complete automatic production line.

Main Structure of the Crusher: It mainly consists of a rotor system, feeding device, discharging device, main drive system, dust removal device, crusher housing, and wear-resistant liners.

Complete Production Line: It is equipped with a feed conveyor, main crusher, discharge conveyor, magnetic separator, dust collector, eddy current separator, and other auxiliary equipment.

After being crushed by the main unit, the materials are transported by a belt conveyor to the magnetic separation system, where ferrous metals are effectively separated from other materials, and then stacked by a dedicated conveyor. Non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials can be further finely sorted by an eddy current separator to improve metal recovery rates. Alternatively, manual sorting can be adopted based on actual needs to flexibly reduce equipment investment costs.

The metal crusher uses a motor to drive the main shaft and hammers at high speed, generating strong centrifugal force to continuously strike metal materials entering the crushing chamber. The specific working process is as follows:

  1. Hammer Crushing: The high-speed rotating hammers violently impact the materials, while the materials also undergo secondary collision, kneading, and squeezing against the liner plate inside the crushing chamber, completing the initial crushing.

  2. Simultaneous Screening and Dust Removal: During the crushing process, the screen plate at the bottom controls the particle size; particles smaller than the screen openings are discharged. At the same time, the dust removal system uses negative pressure suction throughout the process to remove paint, dust, rubber, and other light impurities from the material surface, ensuring clean and uniform metal particles.

  3. Magnetic Separation: The clean metal particles enter the magnetic separator, which separates ferromagnetic materials (steel and iron) from non-magnetic materials (aluminum, copper, plastics, etc.).

  4. Centralized Discharge: The separated materials are conveyed by belt conveyors to designated stockpiles, completing the entire crushing process.
