The scrap steel shredder is an ideal and specialized piece of equipment for processing various types of large scrap steel. It can batch-shred materials such as scrapped cars, end-of-life home appliances, bicycles, motorcycles, and car shells.

The shredded steel has high density, good purity, and low impurities, offering high economic value. It can be sent directly to steel mills for remelting. The equipment features low energy consumption and high output, resulting in significant overall economic benefits.

During the shredding process, the machine effectively removes rust, paint, and other contaminants from the steel surface. When combined with a magnetic separation system, it can separate and sort mixed non-ferrous metals, plastics, rubber, and other non-metallic materials. This not only yields clean shredded steel but also allows non-ferrous metals to be manually sorted and recycled.

The bulk density of clean shredded steel can reach approximately 1.3 t/m³, making it a high-quality furnace charge for electric arc furnace steelmaking. It is suitable for shredding metal materials such as steel ingots and billets.

Working Principle

The scrap steel shredder uses high-speed rotating hammers to impact, shear, and tear scrap steel, combined with a screen to control particle size, and then separates pure steel through magnetic separation and other methods. This is a processing method that uses a sorting system to sort the shredded scrap steel to obtain clean, high-quality scrap steel. Its working principle is as follows: driven by a high-speed, high-torque motor, the hammers on the shredder rotor strike the scrap steel material entering the chamber in turn. Under strong impact, the scrap steel is torn and hammered into a specified size of shredded steel. After being processed by sorting equipment, high-purity, high-quality shredded steel is obtained. When hard objects that cannot be shredded, such as large iron blocks, enter the chamber, the tramp metal protection device automatically ejects them and then immediately resets, without affecting the normal operation of the equipment.

   1.Machine Housing: The shell of the scrap steel crusher is made of extra-thick steel plates in its construction.

   2. Liner: The interior is lined with high-manganese cast steel components to protect the external machine body.

   3. Rotor Disc: At the rotor section of the main machine, this machine uses a disc-type fastening rotating mechanism.

   4. Pin Shaft: Several steel discs are mounted on a horizontal shaft on the rotor (the number and diameter of the steel discs depend on the model), and several pin shafts are distributed around the circumference of the steel discs.

   5. Hammer: Several hammers, both fixed and moving, are suspended on the shaft, all made of high-quality chromium steel 12 material, which is truly wear-resistant and durable. They can be used long-term for striking and crushing materials.

   6. Lubrication System: The main shaft is supported by ball bearings, with circulating oil for forced lubrication and cooling.

   7. Temperature Sensing: The main shaft is equipped with a temperature sensor to ensure the equipment runs stably at high speed. The combination of the housing and the main shaft completes the crushing operation of scrap metal.
