Metal Pulverizer, also called a metal hammer mill or scrap metal pulverizer, is used for further size reduction of scrap metal materials. It uses a high-speed rotating rotor and hammers to impact, shear and grind metal materials inside the crushing chamber.

The machine is suitable for processing waste aluminum, iron pieces, UBCs, color steel tiles, paint buckets, metal turnings, light scrap steel, appliance shell fragments and other recyclable metal materials. The crushed material can be discharged through the screen grate according to the required output size.

The main machine usually consists of a crusher housing, rotor shaft, hammer assembly, stationary knives, wear-resistant liners, screen grate, drive system and electric control system. According to the recycling process, the metal pulverizer can also work with feeding conveyor, discharge conveyor, magnetic separator, eddy current separator, dust collector, vibrating screen and sorting platform.

Working Principle

The metal pulverizer is a hammer mill type crushing machine used for further size reduction of scrap metal materials. It mainly consists of a main housing, rotor shaft, hammers, stationary knives, wear liners, screen grate, drive system and electric control system.

  • Feeding: Scrap metal materials are fed into the crushing chamber by conveyor, feeding device or manual loading according to site condition and material size.

  • Hammer crushing and pulverizing: Inside the crushing chamber, the high-speed rotor drives the hammers to repeatedly impact, tear and grind the material. The hammers, stationary knives, liner plates and screen area work together to reduce metal sheets, cans, paint buckets, color steel tiles, aluminum scrap, iron pieces and other recyclable metal materials into smaller fragments.

  • Screening and discharge: The screen grate at the bottom of the machine helps control the output size. Materials smaller than the screen openings are discharged from the machine, while larger pieces continue to be crushed inside the chamber until they reach the required size.

  • Magnetic separation: After crushing or pulverizing, the material can be conveyed to a magnetic separator. Ferrous metals such as iron and steel are separated from mixed material streams.
