
Cast Aluminum Parts Crushing Process
Material Inspection and Preparation
Cast aluminum parts should be inspected before crushing. Residual oil, coolant, sealed cavities and unsuitable attachments should be removed or handled according to the selected recycling process.
Large steel shafts, gears, bearings and easily removable components should be dismantled where practical. The maximum casting dimensions, wall thickness and internal steel content must remain within the limits of the selected crusher.
Controlled Feeding
Prepared cast aluminum parts are transferred into the crushing chamber by a conveyor or suitable loading device. The feeding rate should be controlled according to the casting size, individual weight and crusher load.
Hammer Crushing
A high-speed rotor drives the hammers to repeatedly impact, deform and break the cast aluminum inside the crushing chamber. Friction and compression between the hammers, liner plates and screen grate further reduce the material.
The crushing action helps expose embedded bolts, steel liners, bearings and other internal ferrous components for downstream separation.
Screen-Controlled Discharge
Material that meets the selected screen opening is discharged from the crusher, while oversized pieces remain inside the crushing chamber for further crushing.
Actual output size depends on the crusher model, screen opening, casting structure, material thickness and hammer configuration.
Magnetic Separation
After crushing, the processed material can be conveyed to a magnetic separator. Exposed bolts, bearings, shafts, steel inserts and other ferrous components are recovered from the aluminum-rich material stream.
Optional Screening and Sorting
Screening equipment may be added when the crushed material requires particle-size classification or more uniform feeding before additional sorting.
Manual inspection or specialized separation equipment can be selected when different aluminum alloys, copper-containing components or other non-ferrous materials need to be recovered separately.
Optional Dust Collection
Dust collection can be configured around the crusher, conveyor transfer points and screening equipment according to the casting condition, surface contamination and workshop requirements.
