Haoxing Machinery's Gantry Shear, also known as a Guillotine Shear or Hydraulic Gantry Shear, is a next-generation, fully automatic, heavy-duty cold shearing machine for scrap metal. The system comprises a heavy-duty frame, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power unit, automatic feeding hopper, conveyor/pusher system, and electrical controls. Material is loaded into the hopper, compressed by side cylinders, automatically fed to the shear blade, and cut by immense dual-cylinder hydraulic force. The Gantry Shear efficiently processes channels, I-beams, rails, ELV car bodies, bicycles, ship plates, rounds, squares, pipes, and plates. With shearing forces ranging from hundreds to over a thousand tons and a daily capacity of 70 - 90 tons, it is the ideal centerpiece for scrap recycling yards, ELV dismantlers, and foundry feedstock preparation.

The Gantry Shear employs integrated hydraulic and electrical control for highly automated operation:

  1. Automatic Feeding & Compression: A grapple loads scrap into the automatic feed hopperSide compression cylinders compact the material, reducing volume and maximizing cutting efficiency.

  2. Automatic Pusher/Conveyor: The compressed material is advanced automatically toward the shear blade by a variable-speed conveyor/pusher system. Feed speed and cut length are fully adjustable.

  3. Hydraulic Shearing: Once positioned, dual hydraulic shearing cylinders drive the moving blade downward against the fixed bed knife, delivering a powerful cold shearing force for a clean cut.

  4. Automatic Cycling: After each cut, the finished piece is discharged, and the pusher advances more material for the next cycle. Operators can choose between manual, remote control, or fully automatic operation modes.

    The hopper accepts 2 - 4 tons per batch and automatically completes compression, feeding, and shearing without manual intervention. Cutting speeds reach 10 - 12 strokes per minute with adjustable stroke length, dramatically boosting productivity and reducing labor costs.

  2. Powerful Hydraulic Drive, Broad Application Range
    Driven by a robust hydraulic system with shearing forces of 650 tons and above. Capable of cold shearing rounds, squares, channels, angles, I-beams, plates, pipes, rails, car frames, and ship plates—fully replacing flame cutting, reducing costs, and eliminating associated safety hazards.

  3. Rugged Durability, Stable Mechanical Performance
    The main frame is a welded box-structure steel plate construction for high rigidity and deformation resistance. Shear cylinders utilize spherical hinge connections for enhanced stability and service life. A front plate guide device improves load distribution. Blade carriage slides are automatically grease-lubricated and lined with high-manganese wear-resistant steel for exceptional longevity.

  4. Flexible Operation, Safe & Reliable
    Three control modes—manual, remote, or fully automatic—are available. The machine can be stopped or started at any position, with built-in overload protection. Remote operation keeps personnel safely away from the cutting zone.

  5. Adjustable Cut Length, Premium Blade Material
    Minimum cut length is 10 cm, fully adjustable. Shear blades are made from premium H13 tool steel for high hardness and wear resistance; custom blade materials are available upon request.
