Established in 2020 and based in the Tianshengqiao Industrial Park in Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan Dianyu New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is a designated Yunnan Provincial supply chain innovation and application pilot enterprise. The company specializes in the comprehensive utilization of recycled aluminum resources and the promotion of new materials technologies. In 2023, it was officially upgraded to an above-designated-size industrial enterprise, with an annual recycled aluminum processing capacity of 50,000 tonnes, supplying aluminum processing and die-casting enterprises mainly across Yunnan and neighboring provinces.
In March 2023, Dianyu launched its 50,000-tonne recycled aluminum upgrading project with a total investment of RMB 24.895 million. Within a leased 14,000-square-meter standardized plant, the plan was to build a new automated aluminum scrap crushing and sorting line, replacing the existing sorting line that relied heavily on manual labor.
Before this, crushing and sorting were the biggest headaches at Dianyu. The incoming aluminum scrap was a mixed bag — auto parts, door and window profiles, factory offcuts. Manual sorting was not only slow; during the busy farming season or tight project deadlines, the plant simply couldn't hire enough hands. As workshop head Mr. Wang used to say, “Machines can run 24 hours, but people can't.”
In October 2022, Dianyu preemptively deployed a full preprocessing package from Gongyi Haoxing Machinery. The core equipment includes a 1600 aluminum scrap crusher, a 1200 double shaft shredder and a 1000 eddy current separator. The complete line runs a “shred → crush → separate” three-stage relay: the double shaft shredder first tears down bulky cast aluminum and profile offcuts into a mid‑size fraction, the aluminum scrap crusher then uniformly reduces the material to the ideal furnace feed size, and the eddy current separator finishes the job by efficiently removing non‑ferrous contaminants such as copper and zinc.
Since commissioning, the overall manpower required in the sorting section has shrunk by over 60%, while aluminum purity into the melting furnace has jumped from less than 95% under manual sorting to a rock-solid 98% and above. “Just in the sorting workshop, we're saving several hundred thousand yuan a year in labor costs alone,” Mr. Wang calculated. What impressed him even more was that the equipment never faltered during the hot summer months at high altitude — not every machine can hold up on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. By the time the official project expansion broke ground in early 2023, this pilot system had already processed more than 10,000 tonnes of scrap aluminum.
That same year, Dianyu successfully entered the government's “above-designated-size” enterprise list, with the automated crushing and sorting line playing an indispensable role in meeting the output and quality benchmarks.
