Chongqing Falin New Materials Co., Ltd. is an innovative technology enterprise specializing in high-performance aluminum alloy ingots, aluminum matrix composites, and high-value utilization of recycled aluminum resources. Its products are widely used in the automotive manufacturing, communication electronics, and green building materials sectors across Southwest China. Unlike many large-scale secondary aluminum smelters, Falin New Materials receives a diverse and challenging mix of feedstocks – with the greatest challenge coming from oily aluminum chips, used aluminum extrusions, and decorative scrap containing plastic coatings. These materials are fluffy, high in impurities, and flammable. Charging them directly into a melting furnace results in severe melt loss and heavy fume emissions, while outsourcing disposal is costly and carries environmental compliance risks.
In August 2023, Falin New Materials commissioned an 1800 scrap aluminum crusher and a matching fully enclosed plate chain conveyor system from Gongyi Haoxing Machinery. The line operates under fully sealed negative pressure: oily chips, light‑gauge scrap aluminum, and similar materials are fed from bulk bag unloading stations directly into the crusher inlet via the plate chain conveyor. The crusher hammer‑mills the material into uniform aluminum granules while partially stripping oil and moisture. Finally, the clean aluminum granules are elevated by the plate chain conveyor to a magnetic separator and storage silo – with zero dust emission throughout the entire process.
After more than six months of operation, the most troublesome contaminated aluminum scrap has been transformed into stable, clean furnace‑ready material. Melting recovery has significantly increased, and workshop conditions have improved dramatically. The production supervisor commented: “We used to dread seeing oily and plastic‑coated scrap – it took up space, posed a fire risk, and melted poorly. Now the whole process is sealed, the scrap is crushed clean, and even our melt crew is happy to use it.”
