Project Overview
Kunming Dianyu New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., stationed in the Tianshengqiao Industrial Park, Dongchuan District, Kunming, is a manufacturing base for both recycled aluminum processing and equipment manufacture serving the Yunnan-Guizhou-Sichuan region. It holds national high-tech enterprise status and is recognized as a specialized and sophisticated enterprise in Yunnan Province. The company was upgraded to an above-designated-size industrial enterprise in 2023; in 2024, it processed over 45,000 tonnes of scrap aluminum, was listed as a Yunnan Provincial Specialized and Sophisticated SME and was recognized as a Kunming Municipal Enterprise Technology Center.
In the past, Dianyu's biggest headache during preprocessing was mixed baled feed — especially after spring, when the arrival of used beverage cans (UBC) surged sharply. Cans arrived partially flattened, irregular in shape, and tangled with profiles and castings. Older equipment either failed to bite through them or over-crushed the thin material into fines that the furnace simply burned off. Manual sorters could neither pick them out fast enough nor deal with the shredding load.
In May 2024, the company commissioned a complete preprocessing line from Gongyi Haoxing Machinery, featuring a 1600H aluminum scrap crusher, a 1200H metal shredder, a can flattener, and an aluminum jig separator (eddy current separator). The line follows a four-step “flatten – shred – crush – jig” process: the can flattener first rapidly flattens UBC into a uniform shape, preventing the thin stock from slipping or over-shredding later; the metal shredder then performs primary size reduction on bulky castings and profile offcuts, the crusher reduces all material to the ideal furnace feed size, and the aluminum jig separator efficiently removes copper, zinc, stainless steel and other heavy impurities, delivering clean aluminum. An integrated dust collection and conveying system supports the entire flow.
In nearly a year of operation, Dianyu has seen a significant uplift in metal recovery from mixed UBC and old profile feeds. The line supervisor reported: “Light cans used to be thankless material — now the flattener preps them, the shredder and crusher eat them comfortably, and the jigger gives us clean, intact aluminum. Our melting team is skimming noticeably less dross.” Preliminary plant calculations suggest the reduction in over-crushing and aluminum dross generation alone cuts raw material costs by an estimated RMB 1.8–2.5 million annually.
