
Aluminum Recycling Line Working Process
1. Material Evaluation and Inspection
Aluminum scrap should be evaluated before the equipment configuration is selected. Material dimensions, alloy type, thickness, attached steel, plastic, rubber, oil and other contaminants determine the required processing route.
Sealed components, batteries, pressure vessels, hot material, aluminum powder and materials containing unknown chemicals must be removed or handled separately.
2. Controlled Feeding
Prepared material is transferred into the line by a belt conveyor, chain plate conveyor or another suitable feeding system. The feeding equipment is selected according to the material dimensions, weight and required capacity.
3. Optional Primary Shredding
Long profiles, complete window frames, bundled aluminum and bulky irregular parts may first pass through a low-speed, high-torque shredder. This stage reduces the material into shorter, coarse pieces for stable conveying or downstream crushing.
Primary shredding is optional. Properly sized offcuts and prepared parts may enter the next processing stage directly.
4. Optional Hammer Crushing
When smaller and more consistent output is required, the prepared material enters a hammer crusher. A high-speed rotor drives the hammers to repeatedly impact, deform and break the aluminum scrap.
The screen grate helps control the discharge size, while crushing exposes attached steel and loosens suitable non-metallic components for downstream separation.
5. Magnetic Separation
The processed material passes through magnetic separation. Exposed screws, hinges, steel inserts, shafts and other ferrous components are recovered from the aluminum-rich material stream.
6. Screening and Material Spreading
Screening separates oversized, undersized and fine fractions when required. A material spreading device or vibrating feeder can provide a more uniform layer before subsequent sorting.
7. Optional Eddy Current Separation
After ferrous metal removal and suitable material preparation, eddy current separation may recover conductive non-ferrous metals from appropriate non-conductive residues such as plastic, rubber or glass.
Additional sorting may be required when aluminum, copper, zinc or different aluminum alloy fractions need to be collected separately.
8. Optional Airflow Sorting
Airflow sorting may help remove protective film, foam, loose plastic, rubber, dust and other lightweight impurities when sufficient density and aerodynamic differences exist.
9. Dust Collection and Material Collection
Dust collection can be configured around crushing, screening and conveyor transfer points. Recovered materials are transferred to separate collection areas according to the selected process.
10. Centralized Line Control
The control system coordinates the connected equipment and manages start, stop, interlocking and emergency protection. The line capacity is determined by the complete process rather than one machine alone.
